Quantiacs @ Caltech’s Hackathon

March, 02 2016

500 students from universities all over California hacked together at Hacktech for 36 hours straight. Quantiacs was a sponsor of Caltech’s Hackathon and offered a Boosted board for the best fintech hack. Kevin Yeng from Woterloo University build a tool for sentiment analysis. His script measures the notion of news articles for certain fields (e.g. technology) and returns a score of how positive or negative the article was.

They helped hackers to conceptualize and create their ideas using the Quantiacs framework. “This is a great experience -- building a smart solution for a tricky problem together with a team. All in 36 hours”, said Nobie after staying up for almost the entire time.

Thanks to the Caltech team for organizing this great hackathon. Well done!
