Getting the scan right on the first try made the whole application move faster than expected. Good lighting mattered more than fancy equipment. Placing the passport flat, avoiding flash on the laminate, and keeping all four edges visible in frame produced a clean result each time. Understanding the Russia eVisa Passport Scan Requirement beforehand prevented several rounds of re-uploading.
A few details deserve extra attention:
The machine-readable zone at the bottom must stay fully visible, chevrons and all
Faded or damaged bio pages need every critical detail still legible
Passports must carry at least six months' validity counted from the submission date, not the travel date
Skipping any of these points risks delays that a careful first attempt easily avoids.
