Regional web addresses used to confuse me until I began reading more about internationalization. A domain can suggest a country, but it does not tell the whole story about language, access or regulation. I enjoy examining those distinctions because they show how complex an apparently simple URL can be. I saw Afropari Nigeria in a list of regional addresses. The example was useful for thinking about language and country codes, but it did not establish where a site can legally operate. Country labels can be helpful clues, but they are never enough on their own to establish trust or legal availability. I try to check what information a page actually provides and keep my conclusions limited to what I can verify. That habit serves me well beyond web design.
