Files disappeared from online env
-
Hi @support ,
2 jupyter notebook files I was working on last night disappeared from my online jupyter env.
Last night I was working on:- esmultifeatrc-Copy2-improved
- pairsstate
Today they are no longer there.
I work in the Quantiacs online env.
Can you look into pls.
Thanks. -
Bumping in here because something similar happened to me a few weeks ago. I had been training several neural networks and stored the trained models as pickle files online. A few days afterwards they were gone. I don't really need them any more but since it got mentioned now, I'm curious why this happened and how to prevent it in case one actually needs those files.

@sheikh Thank you for reporting, we will look and come back to you soon. Sorry for the issue
-
@antinomy Thank you, let us check what happened. We have several backup systems in place of course, we will check.

@support
One file name had the word 'improved' in it.
It was one support had fixed for me to get multiple talib indicators to work in a dataframe.
I can't use the original you sent to me though because I added many more TAs and I can't even remember which TAs I added but I had gotten the SR to increase nicely.
So I don't want to start from scratch.Don't bother about the pairsstate file however. I can just get that one again from the support response where you helped me on it.
It would be good to know the reason the issue happened though.
Maybe from now on, I'll just log out in the nights when I'm done working in the online env. -
@sheikh Hello, did you by chance upload files inside the "qnt" or "examples" folders? In this case, the files would not be saved. Sorry for not being clear on this.

-
@support No, they were in the root directory of the strategy. But I didn't upload them, they were generated by my script which was running on the server. The files I did upload are still there.
-
@antinomy Ok, thanks, that is useful info.
-
@antinomy Was the size of the files very large? We are inspecting, there could be issues if the files are very large.
-
@support Well, they had a considerable size, about 70 MB each, I don't remember how many files but I think around 7 - 10

@antinomy Hi, sorry for the late answer. The problem is the size of files, we are working on a solution for avoiding this issue in the future.
